One victory lap for Obama!

Or, if you're one of us it's more like, One Victory Lounge-Around-The-House-All-Day In-Your-Jammies Lap.

Speaking of jammies.

Last night we went to our friends Mike and Alisha's "What America Means To Me" Election Night Costume Party to watch the results come in while dining on Alisha's turkey meat loaf, garlic green beans, and mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy. Because it doesn't get any more American than that. Or delicious.

Peter and i attended the event in our jammies (still wearing them right now!) because, according to Peter: "America to me is home." And for me? i am just so grateful for my American right to laze about. Like right now for instance, where i have intricately placed my lap top, the remote control, my iPhone, my dog, my husband (my cat refuses to come anywhere near me, and she does not hide her disgust well) and my cup of coffee within 3 to 5 feet all around my cozy little place here on the couch so i don't anticipate having to actually move, other than for reaching, for at least the next 2 hours. God bless America.

Back to last night.... PICTURES! (crappy iPhone pictures, but still.)

Peter and Lottie wait in anticipation, and enjoy some turkey meatloaf. Sorry, Lottie watches Peter enjoy his turkey meatloaf. Aw.

Watching.... Waiting....

At 276 electoral votes, Peter Dean scoots up closer to the television and has a moment

dressed up as a true Southern Charmer (you remember him as the Sea Captain who officiated our wedding) a man of many faces.... And talents!

And Jasper goes Colonial

McCain concedes

And we break open the champagne!

Alisha in her best Eleanor Roosevelt top and Jen Fox as a Southern Beauty, hair perfectly coifed for bed and everything.

Peter Dean and Max make a toast: To Change! And wait for it to really sink in.

Obama's Victory speech

Alisha and Mike watch President Obama (has a nice ring to it, eh?) smiling and proud with renewed hope for our nation

Mike dressed up in McCain's "Look! You see? i'm normal just like you" outfit.

The dance party (you knew that was coming)

Favorite quote of the evening comes from a celebrating and slightly innebriated Mike, right as we were leaving:
"You know what you guys? There are less than 10 people i know in this world that i actually respect... And you, Christina Nochisaki Wolfe, and you.... Peter Nochehhslolky Wolfe.... make up 20% of those people."
