Buck gives a subtle hint

i think he's trying to tell us he doesn't need the use of his crate at night anymore, as illustrated here by the near complete demolition of it.

Note the padlock still intact from previous attempts at escape (he'd figured out how to undo the 3 lock systems that are built into it within his first month with us.) He's a very smart dog, you wouldn't think it by looking at him, i know.

instead of trying to open the front panel like he used too, he figured out how to just undo the front panel all together

i think he's also trying to let us know he doesn't want to use his protective collar anymore since his surgery, as seen here (what's left of it, at least).

Peter thinks that maybe he's ready to start sleeping at the foot of the bed like other normal dogs. i'm not so sure, myself. Though i have to admit, when i woke up this morning and found him sitting so quiet and still at the foot of the stairs, before it sank it that he wasn't in his crate where i'd last left him, and after i walked into the living room where there were NO MESSES, i certainly had a proud mama feeling.
